* Jack Williamson's "Born of the Sun" (short story, fantasy): Death of Sol & planets

Sun, & other stars in the sky, are sentient beings. Planets & moons are their eggs! Now the babies are coming out of these eggs - planets having served their purposes as egg shells!

One star child is even described in loving detail - that came out of moon. Something with a beak & wings - for travel in space!

Large parts are about impending destruction of all life on earth as the earth child emerges, efforts of a superhero to save something of humanity, & efforts of a religious cult to stop the hero from saving.
