Marvin Minsky & David Gerrold's "Why There Are No Type-C Civilizations" (flash fiction, science fiction): These aliens have an unusual appetite

I didn't know Prof Minsky wrote fiction too! I won't call this story entertaining, but it may be an interesting curio collectible for admirers of Dr Minsky.

Story summary.

Two phenomena at "hypergalactic scale", called Fred & Ethel for convenience, are traveling through spacetime.

In "this particular intersection of temporality and location, ... their passage ... occurs near an unimportant, mostly inconsequential, small galactic object of oblate spiral conformation." Detection of "Coherent radio spectrum" there means a tasty meal!
