Free fiction: Pulp.Net

In spite of name, this site publishes original short fiction, & has a good sized fiction archive. I'm not sure how much of it is sf, however (but titles suggest some must be).

WiSB also recommends a story I'd not read & that might be worth a look: "Sandkings" by George R. R. Martin.

I read Sandkings long back in one of the Nebula winners collection and yes, it was enthralling tale. Unfortunately I was not able to locate an online version of it anywhere so far.

Sandkings is near impossible to find online (legally). It's a fantastic short story though and you really should check it out if you haven't read it already. You should be able to find the novel/collection called Sandkings, which has the original short in there, if memory serves me. Or is it a novel that expands on the short? I don't know. You want to read the short, though. It's brilliant and an instant classic, I think.

Anywho. Hopefully you can find it.
