Robert Reed's "Truth" (novella, terrorism, free): "Temporal jihadists" from future are wrecking havoc

Quote from short story titled Truth by Robert ReedGreat start, but then it gets mundane.

Story summary.

Some 200 odd (Islamic) terrorists from about 140 years into future have arrived in our world with their advanced weapons, & are wrecking havoc. We get hints that recent US armed action in places like Iraq is at least partly gifts from these from-future terrorists.

One of them - Ramiro aka "Lemonade-7" - is caught & has been in a secret US detention center for over a decade & has been through much torture. And the world has seen much destruction during the period, apparently at the hands of his comrades.

Story is mostly of a psychologist's interrogation of the captured man, until she learns the nature of the weapon used by these visitors from the future & neutralizes it.
