Ian McEwan's "The Use of Poetry" (short story, love story, free)

I suppose you could call it marginally science fictional, though I won't do that. At least this class of stories aren't exactly unknown in genre venues. And it's a very well told one.

Story summary.

Main story is a love story - a very smart young man's somewhat filmy seduction of a girl who doesn't think highly of science students. Some interesting & funny tidbits here.

And in bits, we're exposed to gender issues, "science is better or arts" debate, loveless families, & a certain marriage that would certainly appear very Heinleinisque to at least readers from India.
