Ian McEwan's "The Use of Poetry" (short story, love story, free)

Illustration accompanying the online copy at The New Yorker of the short story titled The Use of Poetry by Ian McEwan.I suppose you could call it marginally science fictional, though I won't do that. At least this class of stories aren't exactly unknown in genre venues. And it's a very well told one.

Story summary.

Main story is a love story - a very smart young man's somewhat filmy seduction of a girl who doesn't think highly of science students. Some interesting & funny tidbits here.

And in bits, we're exposed to gender issues, "science is better or arts" debate, loveless families, & a certain marriage that would certainly appear very Heinleinisque to at least readers from India.
