G W Thomas on Asimov's "Nightfall"

Link at Dark Worlds.

This is among the better known stories of Asimov. Original is novelette length; was later expanded with another author to novel version. I personally prefer the somewhat longer novel version, but without the later half that details post apocalypse mayhem.

Links to 2 online audio versions of the story (I think original short version). Also online is an audio of a Hindi translation.

He also notes two movies based on the story. Plus 'George Alec Effinger spoofed "Night Fall" with The story, "Maureen Birnbaum After Dark" (Foundation's Friends, 1989).'

PS: Note there is an unrelated Arthur Clarke short story titled "Nightfall" too.
