Story summary.

Model Mark VIII Eldercare Robot aka Marcus has been in service of Sophia Loggia for 13 years, taking care of her daily needs. Now the old woman has died, & robot must report back to his makers - Clockwork Corp - for reprogramming for a different assignment.

Reprogramming means wiping out precious memories of Madam Sophia. He would rather commit a complete suicide...
