Locus "2008 Recommended Reading List"

It's about fiction first published during 2008. While some of the stories on the list are online, they aren't linked from Locus page.

While the list has been around several days & has been linked from all over sf blogosphere, I was reluctant linking it for 3 reasons:

  1. A few of those doing the recommending have their own works listed too, seriously undermining the credibility of the list.
  2. Its short fiction list is HUGE, indicating a "please all" outlook.
  3. While there are a couple of good ones among the dozen odd I've read from the list (Ted Kosmatka's "Divining Light", & Greg Egan's "Crystal Nights"), rest are either totally crappy or very average.
May be there are more gems in the list, but it appears to be too much effort finding them.

Related: "best of" lists; my "best of 2008" list (links to more "best of 2008" lists too).
