Janet Frame's "Gavin Highly" (short story, non-genre, free): Children's myth-building about a neighbor

Not exactly original - there are any number of stories about children's imagination creating fantastic stories about a recluse neighbor. But still a good read, & beautiful language. Set apparently somewhere in UK.
