It started off as ordinary mild fever - less than 100F. Only in won't respond, or only violently respond, to antibiotics. And none of the dozens of tests would show anything wrong with the body. This phase lasted over 2 months.
Eventually an accident in hospital after a couple of days' admission made my doc pull in a neurologist who quickly figured out the real cause - a somewhat rare infection in the brain. A big series of problems started during its treatment - every combination of medicines had side effects, often serious. It was these side effects that kept sending me to Intensive Care.
Eventually the doc pulled in an expert in Medicine, & things started improving (my layman's understanding is: a Medicine specialist looks at a bunch of medicines to be administered & tweaks them or their doses so they'll have fewest undesirable side-effects.). I've since been on the mend, but mending is erratic - a day of improvement & 2 of regress.
At the moment, my priority is health. I do hope to return to blogging, but it could be several months before things return to normal. Sorry for disappointing anyone.
