Richard F Thieme's "Pleasant Journey" (short story, virtual reality, free)
Allenby runs pleasure rides; Jenkins makes & sells the machines that give rides.
During his current trip, Allenby is shown an unusual new ride: sit in a chair with arms strapped & a helmet over your head, & you visit whatever place you unconsciously wanted to visit! All in mind, of course.
Life won't be the same for Allenby henceforth. Since the ride is too realistic & pleasurable.

Woiw, an early story about VR!
One of the several old ones of the kind. VR is a very old trope.
