H G Stratmann's "Neighborhood Watch" (short story): Keeping nosy humans out is a pain!
This is part nostalgia of planetary stories & part fanfic (name dropping like Pod'cayne, Twee'l).
All parts of solar system are teeming with intelligent telepathic life, comfortable with others but each species minding their own business. And they're getting mighty uncomfortable with nosy humans, once pets of now long dead telepathic intelligent earthlings. To ward off human remote controlled probes that keep trying to peer into their worlds, they have to build & maintain complex illusions for human equipments' sensors.
But the Martians aren't what they appear to be to rest of the community, & are willing to make humans their pets...
Rating: B.
